Phoenix-Micron improves experiment repeatability and imaging throughput with new features in MICRON® Software Suite

New MICRON Software SuiteAutomated camera functions increase imaging speed, throughput, and protocol repeatability in small animal imaging —  Reducing stress on subject animals and improving data capture efficiency.

MICRON Software Suite is launching with three new features for MICRON 5 cameras.

  • Auto-Focus – Once your subject is ready to image, the push of a button will automatically bring the retina into focus. From there you are free to tune the focus to your needs, the heavy lifting has been done in seconds.
  • Auto-illumination – Like auto-focus, the click of a button will automatically set the illumination level to evenly expose the retina. Plus, MICRON Software Suite gets a new real-time histogram display so you can fine tune exposure for the colors / wavelengths most important to your study.
  • Imaging Presets – You carefully set your imaging settings to optimize image quality for your studies, tuning to reveal fluorophores, pathologies, and other characteristics. Now, you can save all those settings as Preset that can be easily recalled. In one step you can name and save imaging settings: selected filters, digital gain, light intensity, frame rate, aperture, and focus, so that you have a repeatable starting point for future studies.

These advancements combined with our recently released MICRON Animal Stand Pro bring together a heated, stable sedation environment while optimizing imaging protocols.
