MICRON® Geographic Atrophy System
Precision delivery of 810 nm laser energy to the mouse and rat retina
Preclinical research using rodent models is essential for advancing our understanding of dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a leading cause of vision loss with no approved cure. One powerful approach involves the use of an 810 nm laser to induce geographic atrophy, enabling researchers to replicate key disease features and evaluate potential therapies in a controlled setting.
These models, combined with high-resolution imaging and analysis tools, are accelerating the development of treatments aimed at preserving vision and slowing disease progression.
MICRON GA System (810 nm)
Proven - Validated method for inducing Geographic Atrophy (GA) in published studies.
Easy to Use - Use the color fundus image as a guide to place the aiming beam on target areas. Easily capture photographs or videos for publications or presentations to strengthen research documentation.
Efficient Verification - Easily switch from laser delivery to OCT imaging with the MICRON Image-Guided OCT2 system allowing researchers to observe the efficacy of the laser burns in a single imaging session.
Easy Targeting - Laser targeting using image-guidance is easy and precise with magnification of the fundus image and the target overlay in MICRON Software suite. Image guidance can be done with full color or fluorescent images, aiding in targeting the laser.
Consistent Laser Delivery - By coupling the cornea to the objective lens using a gel interface, the eye is stabilized against movements from respiration, and power delivery is more consistent than through open air.
The MICRON Geographic Atrophy System is a complete imaging System.
