For those facing the reality of vision loss, ophthalmic research represents a beacon of hope, offering the promise of new treatments and therapies to preserve or restore sight.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a significant milestone, we are excited to share that images and data from<a href=\"http:\/\/www.phoenixmicron.com\"> MICRON\u00ae imaging systems<\/a> have been included in over 900 scientific research papers and publications. From cutting-edge genetic therapies to novel disease models and documentation of cellular processes, I am proud that our imaging solutions have supported researchers as they endeavor to unlock groundbreaking insights and drive innovation in the field of ophthalmology and neurology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Used to image the eyes of small animals from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/phoenixmicron.com\/zebrafish-are-effective-models-for-studying-uveitis\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">zebrafish<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1111\/vop.12560\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hummingbirds<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to rodents and small rabbits, the breadth of pre-clinical studies encompassing MICRON imaging systems is truly remarkable. Our systems have been used to explore how neurologic disorders like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/phoenixmicron.com\/early-alzheimers-signs-in-retina\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alzheimer\u2019s Disease<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are expressed in the retina as well as to create novel animal models such as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41598-019-43906-z\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">laser-induced <\/span><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41598-023-31392-3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">geographic atrophy in mice<\/span><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41598-019-43906-z\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> These investigations have shed light on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC9733026\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">underlying mechanisms<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, diagnostic techniques, and potential therapeutic approaches for these debilitating and sight-threatening diseases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MICRON imaging solutions have played a role in genetic studies and therapies, enabling researchers to delve into the intricate world of gene expression regulation, mutation analysis, and the effects of gene editing techniques like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC10233210\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CRISPR-Cas systems<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Not only that, spectacular innovations have been explored using the MICRON in other creative ways such as directly <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/journals\/neuroscience\/articles\/10.3389\/fnins.2017.00568\/full\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">imaging the brain<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as well as training artificial intelligence (AI) networks to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC9372147\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">identify disease biomarkers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u00a0 These advancements hold immense promise for developing <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC5669624\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">targeted treatments<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and personalizing medicine for ophthalmic disorders.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cellular and molecular processes in the eye have also been meticulously studied using MICRON imaging systems.
